Super Parking World

This game is a skill-type game.  You have to carefully park your vehicle and not crash.  Park in as many levels as possible without crashing.  Try to get 100% accuracy in your parking.

Use up arrow to go up.  If you press left, it will make the steering wheel on the bottom left go left, too.  And it will stay that way.  This will show which way you will turn.  Down is backward/brake.  Do the same thing as for left, except reverse it to do the right.

What I like about this game is that you can try to get the best accuracy.  And it’s really hard sometimes.  What I don’t like about it is it’s way too easy to crash, and some levels have moving cars.

Tip:  when you do a curve, try to curve very tight.  Every turn in the game is tight.  Another tip:  your car will be a normal car or a humongous sunroof.  Both vehicles are white.  The empty space when you’re parking is your space.

This game I sort of like because other parking games have a small display and this one has a huge display.  Tip:  don’t expect to be parking from the side or from the back; your camera is from bird’s eye view.

Nordic Race

The game is a sort of crash type game.  You need to sort of destroy the targets – no weapons, just crashing.  Don’t crash too much because you’ll lose health then.

Each level has five targets.  Destroy those with crashing them.  Here’s a tip for crashing: run them off the road by first pushing them to the left or right of the road, and then after they get off the road, after a few seconds, they’ll explode.

Use the up arrow key to go up, which is forwards.  Combination of up and down makes you go backwards.  Combination of up and left makes you go left.  Combination of up and right makes you go right.  These lefts and rights are at angles, not directly left and right, so you don’t have to worry about crashing into the side of someone.

I like this game because it’s one of my favorite types of games:  chase/target/crash games.  What I don’t like about this game is that you lose health too quickly, and at the end, you’re totally damaged and scratched.

Tip:  you can find targets because the targets have a red circle around them, and when a target comes, there’s a blue arrow pointing to it.  And try to drive normally; don’t swerve around every vehicle.

For better understanding of what your vehicle is, you’re not a car – you’re a blue snowmobile.  This is on a snow drag race strip.

My Biggest Money-Earning: A Lemonade Stand

This is how I made a very good lemonade stand, and how you can make a very successful one, too.

The first thing that I did (this also goes for you, too – everything does), is prepare the lemonade.  About 26 lemons will be good.  Then juice them and pour the juice in a bowl.  After that, add to the bowl two times as much water as lemon juice, and the same amount of sugar as lemon juice.  Then mix it in a cooler.  OK, you’ve done the first step.  Now add more water and ice to the cooler until it tastes right [Mom sez: until you have about four times as much water/ice as lemon juice.].

Number three step:  make a very good sign.  Use a big piece of white cardboard, and draw with bubble letters on it, “Lemonade – Home Made – $.50.”

Find a good table and set up on the best place on your street.  The best place is where a lot of people walk by.  You can also make lemonade on a wagon, to make lemonade on the go.  You can also make two lemonade stands with a helper.  Or you can have a helper at your own lemonade stand.  My helper was my best friend, Gabriel.

The lemonade stand was very, very successful.  We made about $17.89 in two days.  That is how to make a very successful lemonade stand.

Park My Emergency Vehicle

The game is sort of a parking skill game that starts out in training grounds with a parking patrol vehicle, and gets harder.  You have to park inside a police garage and you have to use this huge, long, twistable, big fat fire truck.

The game objective is to park the vehicle and don’t crash.  You use the up arrow key to move forward, down arrow to move backward/brake.  Left arrow to steer left, right arrow key to steer right.

It’s just a great a game, mostly because you get to use a police vehicle.  The hard part is when you’re driving a tow truck, it’s like you’re driving a mile long semi-trailer truck with a two-mile long trailer.  The other vehicles are pretty easy to park, except for that fire truck that’s split into two parts and the ones that bend.

Here’s a tip:  try to do tight turns on spaces where there’s sort of a squarish turn.  On spaces where there’s sort of a roundish turn try to do the tightest turn possible without getting too near the edges of the track.

Some levels you may think are impossible when they are really easy.  Don’t let the flashing lights on your vehicle distract you.  They vehicles with the flashing lights are very hard to park at times because the vehicles’ lights distract you.  While using the tow truck, try going the slowest as possible, because you usually have to make tight turns on those levels, and the tow truck really can’t make a tight turn.

Another Great Game: Drag Racer v3

Drag Racer v3 is a drag racing game, as you can see from the title.  There are three modes to choose when you play.  You can play Arcade mode (you can buy any car; no cash limits), you can play Tuner mode (cash limits and there are tourneys and trials), and Online mode (it’s sort of like Facebook:  you can play with friends and chat).  I have not tried online mode yet, because you have to be registered with the site it’s made on, and my mom won’t let me chat with people I don’t know.

My favorite is the arcade mode.  The fastest car I have tried so far is the Saleen S7, but it is said that the Maclaren F1 is faster.  But I’ve won the most races with the Saleen S7.

Buying a car is really easy.  You can do it specifically by clicking “Manufacturer,” and going down the list of manufacturers and clicking on the type of car that you want.  And then you can do it like you’re in an auto store:  click on the type of car you want (“Compact Car,” “Sports” or “Racing”) and you can just browse down all the cars and see which model you like the best.  And no matter what, you get to see everything about the car on the “Buy” panel…and you can even choose what color you want to buy it in.

Once you’re done buying your car, you are at the “Car Options” page.  The options are “Buy Car,” “Change Cars,” “Customize,” and “Performance.”

When you’re racing, there’s no “Instructions” button, so you’ll have to know this:  hold down the space bar for the accelerator, press the up arrow to shift gears (which reduces your RPM), and press the down arrow to lower your gear (which raises your RPM and makes you faster).  Another important control is the “N” button, for Nitro.  It’s best to use this control in Arcade mode because in Tuner mode you need to purchase a nitrous kit. I also do not purchase a nitrous kit in Tuner mode because you have to select the part, the manufacturer, the size and how many of it you want.  And I don’t even know if they even make nitrous kits in real life.

In all, the game is very great, and to me it’s basically free driving the car of your dream.

One of My Favorite Games: Battleforce 5 – Shatterbolt Siege

I love this game because you get drive a car.  What I like about it is that it’s sort of an abstract attack game, where there’s no people involved or anything.  But the good thing is is that it is an attack game, which I like…but I only like abstract attack games. [Mom sez: And it’s the only kind he’s allowed to play.]

You have two vehicles.  You start out with the Splitwire, but once you advance to the next level, you can use the Shatterbolt.  You start out by shooting normal balls of plasma.  If you collect a shield, it increases your shield. If you collect a weapon upgrade, which has a robot head on it, you can shoot plasma balls and rockets.  If you collect it two times, you can shoot plasma balls to the left side of you.  And if you collect it three times, you can shoot it also to the back.  And if you do it four times, you can drop blue mines.  Five times you can drop blue energy bolts.  Six times you can shoot blue energy bolts forwards.  Seven times you can drop red mines to the left and right of you.

If you are using the Shatterbolt, you can do this three times:  press Z to destroy all enemies on screen.  Your meter will show three rockets over your life meter.

The good thing about the game is it’s sort of a skill game, and I like skill games.  You can sometimes recognize some sort of pattern in what the enemy’s vehicles come in.  But sometimes they start shooting back at you and bouncing off the walls of the road. And then they start coming from behind and those are trickier to get, because you need to get at least three weapon upgrades to shoot backward.  You cannot turn your vehicle around.  That’s hard!

The bad thing about it is that it’s way too easy to get hit by another vehicle.  If you lose all your shields, you explode in a cloud of rainbow-colored squares.

Watts Towers

[Mom sez:  This was a writing project that was part of Alex’s class’s unit on heroes. Spelling has been preserved from the original.]

Watts Towers are very beutiful.  The are in Watts and they are next to a art gallery.  They were built by Simon Rodia.  He built the towers with no machines, only with his hands.  The are 99 1/2 ft. tall.  They sparkle a lot in the sun.  They are made completly out of broken household stuff.

I went on a field trip to Watts Towers with my class 2A from GICS.  We went so close to the towers that we got to touch them!  We also got a tour of the towers.  All around them!  At the end of the tour we got to search for a glass bee.  The thing after that was we got to do a art project called a impresson of Watts towers where we drew a picture of towers and then we painted them and then pressed them on another paper.

Simon Rodia was not edgucated.  He was born in Italy in 1875.  Simon Rodia was inspierd by towers in Italy to build Watts Towers.  He moved a lot.  When he was building the towers he broke his hip.

The towers inspier me to never give up.  They inspier me to do stuff.  I learned that Watts towers are very famose.

A Very Great Game that I Like: TU-95

TU-95 is my favorite game today.  The fun about it is that you can fly your airplane and get a real flying experience.  I am only on the second level, where you have to air-to-air refuel another plane.  The first level you can just take off and land at the next airport.  And that is very hard.  I just completed level one today.

You do not get to choose anything about your plane.  The controls may be a bit fancy, but you’ll get the hang of it.  The “up” arrow key gives you speed. To start going up when you’re on the ground, press the left arrow.  Hint:  hold down the “up” arrow key to prevent crashing.  While flying it is a good idea to press “G” to retract your landing gear.  When you are about to land, always remember to put your landing gear down.  Landing may be hard.  You may take more space than the runway, but you’ll still succeed.  Your flaps start on takeoff.  When you are comfortable while flying, put your flaps on “normal.”  When landing, put your landing gear on “landing.”  Press “F” to do this.  If your landing gear snaps off, then you’ll have to press “H” to parachute out of your plane.

What I really like about this game is that I like flying any kind of airplane or helicopter.  What I don’t like about the game is that on level 2, the friendly plane that you’re trying to refuel is very fast (faster than you), and it’s at a height that’s takes two minutes to reach…and by then it would be out of fuel.  Your object is always to at least take off, do a special task in the air (by pressing “space”), and then you just land.

Game Review #4: Will it Fly?

Will it Fly? is sort of a puzzle game.  You have to decide how many passengers and cargo boxes to put in your plane.  You should put in as much as you can, but you don’t want to go too low.  There are obstacles in front of you and you don’t want to crash into it.  You do not steer the plane.  The passengers weigh more than the cargo, so always try to fit in more passengers — you want more weight in plane, but you want to go high enough or low enough.

There are also tail winds that can make you go too fast, so you can’t take off.  Head winds are very good.  They bring you to a good speed to take off.  On each level, there is a certain head wind or tail wind.  There are two modes to choose from:  basic and advanced.  The hardest level is the last level — you’re taking off from a carrier ship.  But the good part is that you’re always taking off with a lightweight Cessna (you don’t get to choose your plane).  In all, the game is very good, but I have crashed a bit.  If you want to play this game, it’s at   http://www.freeonlinegames.com/game/will-it-fly-.html

Game Review #3: Street Challenger

Street Challenger is a fun but tricky game, and sometimes levels have surprises you need to watch out for.  These will make the levels harder.  It may start fun on the first level, but it will get harder once you reach the third or fourth level.  You have to drive around the city, knocking over green cones, and those will give you points, but you need to knock them all down to get to the next level.  The yellow cones will only give you one point each; the green cones will give you 172 points each.  The game is shown at bird’s eye view, and that’s my favorite kind of game.  It’s fun because you can remember the thing that you crashed into last time, and then think of a way how not to do that at the next turn.  When you’re at the start menu, you can choose the color of your car.  My favorite color is orange, yellow or white.  You can play this game at http://www.racecargamesonline.info/game/557/Street-Challenger.html
